The second most popular trip when I did a Facebook poll was for The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton. Set in Amsterdam in 1686–87, the novel was inspired by Petronella Oortman's dollhouse on display at the Rijksmuseum.
Join me on a fascinating trip back in time as we explore the old city of Amsterdam and visit the Rijksmuseum to see the dollhouse for ourselves, followed by a meal in the city to discuss the book.
