The Milky Way – next steps

In April 2024, the Milky Way event brought together stakeholders from across the NENC region to focus on improving maternal breast milk rates. Since then, significant progress has been made, with data showing statistical improvements – a hugely encouraging milestone.

This follow-up event will celebrate these achievements, reflect on the work undertaken over the past year, and facilitate shared learning to drive further progress.

This in-person event is aimed at colleagues across the NENC region involved in improving infant feeding rates, including:

• Infant feeding leads
• Preterm birth leads
• Consultants
• Midwives
• Specialist roles (e.g., patient safety and governance leads)

The event will be held at Citygate, Suite B, 2nd Floor, 1 Citygate, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne where lunch will be provided.

Registration will open from 9.15 am, and the event starts at 9.30am.
