The Midnight Jazz Cats Ft. Jillian Kates

The Midnight Jazz Cats and thier furry mascot Ella Fitzkitty, fuel their version of swing, jazz standards, bossa novas and Western swing with swagger, high octane jazz moxie and matching cat ties. They specialize in jazz of the 1920's through the 1980's. This five piece juggernaut features Mark Stolpe on upright bass/vocals, Lloyd Blake on drums/vocals, Jim Kloss on keyboard/vocals, Bill Shepherd on reeds/vocals and Blake Olson on guitar/vocals. "The Cats" jump, jive and caterwaul to jazz standards from the Great American Songbook.

Jillian Kates is tickled to be making her jazz show debut with the fabulous Midnight Jazz Cats in the beautiful Sapphire room this August! Hailing from Oklahoma City, Jillian holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre from the Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music and has traveled the country as well as parts of Canada performing with the national broadway touring company of Wicked. Since departing the production she became an artistic company member of the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Great Lakes Theater, and the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival where she has performed the past 10+ seasons in such roles as Eliza in My Fair Lady, Donna in Mamma Mia, Marian in the Music Man, Dot in Sunday in the Park…, The Witch in Into the Woods, Lily in Secret Garden, and more! Just last year Jillian made her Symphonic debut with Opera Idaho in collaboration with The Boise Philharmonic for their Broadway Concert series. When not performing you may find her selling or sewing vintage and antique garments for her side company, Small Fire Vintage. Thanks to Blake and the Cats for this opportunity!
