Join us for a fascinating evening exploring the story behind one of the world’s most beloved bears.In celebration of 100 years of Winnie-the-Pooh, author James Campbell (The Men Who Created Winnie-The-Pooh) takes us on a journey into the creative partnership behind A.A. Milne and E.H. Shepard’s timeless stories.
Discover the inspirations, friendships and creative process that helped bring Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and friends to life and how Shepard’s sketches evolved into some of the most recognisable characters in children’s literature.
During the talk, James will open E.H. Shepard’s sketchbook, sharing insights into the artistic process and revealing previously unseen drawings from the Shepard archive.
Whether you grew up with Pooh or are discovering him for the first time, this promises to be a wonderful evening for fans of all ages.

James is married to E.H. Shepard’s great-granddaughter and has overseen the Shepard artistic and literary estate since 2010. He is also the author of The Art of Winnie-the-Pooh and Shepard’s War.
