The Meanies are back with their first new music since 2020.
The double A side single ‘Zamboni/I Agree’ is another masterpiece from the brain of Link Meanie. To be released on Friday 20 September 2024, ‘Zamboni/I Agree’ will be available as a limited edition vinyl 7” and digitally, just in time before The Meanies head off to tour Japan.
‘Zamboni’ (a vehicle that cleans and smooths the surface of a sheet of ice, for those playing at home – it also rhymes with baloney) is about “the darkest side of pragmatism in politics. Imagine an outrageous, hypothetical situation as a politician where you support and defend a pathologically lying, hate mongering, rapist conman and then justifying it to your children knowing full well that you lack any real conviction.” - Link Meanie

The Meanies launch the single at their favourite watering hole, the Marrickville Bowlo on the last Friday of spring, November 29 with extra special guests Nunchukka Superfly in their original line up playing tunes from their album NS95 as well as Wally Meanie’s new favourite band Sick Fizz.
