We are thrilled to host a special workshop for primary school children — Saturday 13 June, 10.30 am to 12.30 pm

What is it?

Come and spend a Saturday morning at Caffeinated Escapism helping to create a brand new children’s book — and have your ideas turned into a real, published story.

What happens on the day

Children will meet Debra Murphy — author of The Magical Adventures of Florence the Border Collie — and hear the stories of two very different Border Collies. Beatrix was brave and adventurous. Florence is not. Florence needs help to go on adventures, and the children in the room are just the people to give her one. Together, they will share their ideas and imagination to help shape the next book in the series. Every idea counts.

About the series

The Magical Adventures of Florence the Border Collie is a unique series of children’s books inspired by the story ideas of primary school children across the UK. Each book begins life in a classroom or workshop — with real children’s ideas, drawings and suggestions at the heart of every story. Six books have already been published, with more in the making.

About Debra

Debra Murphy is a Yorkshire-born, Scotland-based author, storyteller, and speaker. She visits schools and runs workshops to bring children into the heart of the publishing process — because she believes every child has a story worth telling.
