We are delighted to welcome Simon Thompson back to the store for this special presentation. Learn all about Hummingbirds and the arrival of other various feathered visitors that will pop up in our backyards as Spring comes into bloom. Simon was born in Malta and studied commercial horticulture at Writtle Agricultural College, England. His passion for birds developed during his time in Ghana, Kenya, and Lebanon. After moving to the US in 1989, he served as the Ornithologist and Nature Director at Foothills Equestrian Nature Center in North Carolina before founding Ventures Birding Tours. He is a member of the American Birding Association and Carolina Bird Club. He resides with his partner in Suffolk, UK and occasionally makes his way back to Asheville. He travels all around the world, promoting birding through talks and writings. This is a FREE event, open to the public and no registration is required. Please bring your own chair if you do not wish to stand.
