Southbank Playhouse presents Brian Friel’s moving drama The Loves of Cass McGuire, directed by Michele Marken.

The Loves of Cass McGuire by Brian Friel is a moving portrayal of a ‘returned émigré’ who finds herself displaced in a changed Ireland. Set between the family living room and a home for the elderly, the play explores sacrifice and belonging, memory and identity. It echoes the displacement of emigrants from many countries today, who find that they ‘belong neither here, nor there’.
