The Longest Table Kent 2026
About this Event
Welcome to The Longest Table, Kent’s largest community dinner table. Pull up a chair, and enjoy a meal in the heart of downtown with your neighbors.
You’re invited to join your community for an evening of connection, centered around a table shared with friends, neighbors, and even strangers. On August 30th, we’re setting up 80 tables and 480 chairs for our town to come together over the simple act of sharing a meal.
This year’s Longest Table will be held on E. Erie St., between the Kent State University Hotel & Conference Center and PARTA.
Here’s how it works:
- THE HOST: Each table will have a “Host” who coordinates the meal for a party of 6. The Host will invite 5 guests to join their table. (Note: please reserve only one "spot" on Eventbrite for a table of six guests.)
- THE MENU: Your group of 6 can coordinate food and table settings for your table. Bring whatever food you’d like, as well as beverages, tablecloths, plateware, and utensils.
- THE GUESTS: Each Host should invite 5 guests to join them at their table. Let event organizers know ASAP if you have empty seats by emailing [email protected]. We will connect you with anyone who wants to attend, but does not yet have a group.
- THE DRINKS: Alcoholic beverages may be purchased at nearby businesses in DORA cups; no outside alcohol will be permitted.
- DESSERT: New this year! We will have a community dessert table. Each Host will provide one dessert item (at least six servings) for all to share. Please label dessert items with ingredients for allergies and food sensitivities.
If you want to attend but do not need a whole table, please email us at [email protected] and we will connect you with guests who have extra seats at their table.
Please, no pets. Service animals are welcome, of course.
