Before "Saving Private Ryan", before "Band of Brothers", there was the 1962 epic war film "The Longest Day". WIth an incredible international A-list cast, this film tells the story of the D-Day invasion from the perspective of U.S., British, and German soldiers, sailors, and airmen. Based on Cornelius Ryan's best-selling book of the same name, this is still the most accurate portrayal of the events of D-Day ever put on film. Thursday, June 6, 2024 is the 80th Anniversary of D-Day and Red Oak Victory will remember this historically significant event with a screening of "The Longest Day". The ship opens at 6:30 p.m. and the film starts at 7 with some expert commentary from our in-house film historian. Beer, wine, softdrinks and snacks are available for purchase. No reservations are required and admission is free but we alwyas appreciate a donation of any amount.
