The Lodger (1927) – Silent film w/live score by organist David Briggs

At our October 20 Festival event at First Congregational Church in downtown Kalamazoo, internationally renowned organist David Briggs will improvise the score for the 1927 silent-film thriller "The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog", directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
Described as "an intrepid improviser" by Michael Barone (host of American Public Media’s Pipedreams), Briggs frequently performs improvisations to silent films such as "Phantom of the Opera", "Hunchback of Notre-Dame", and a variety of Charlie Chaplin films.
The six-piece ensemble collectively known as “Silent But Deadly” will be opening the show with live scores for 4 short horror films.

Advance tickets are $17 general admission, $14 for seniors/active military and veterans, $5 for ages 25 and under, and $40 for families (2 adults + the kids).
