The Living Legacy Ball (Living History Through Sports Panel)

The purpose of Living History Through Sports is not simply to celebrate athletic achievement. We are bringing generations together to examine the history that can be told through the lives of the people who experienced it. The story of the Cannon Street All-Stars is an extraordinary part of South Carolina and American history—one that deserves to continue being heard directly from the men who lived it.
We are intentionally bringing together individuals whose experiences represent very different chapters of Black history through sports. We have confirmed a former NFL quarterback, a former World Champion in Track and Field (Charleston’s own Dr. Bell) as well as a collegiate athlete who recently appeared on the Oscar stage.
