The Little Mercies are hitting the road this spring with their self-titled debut EP and the "Let The People Dance" tour that spans from Mississippi to Missouri. The powerhouse string band from Tallahassee will bring their raging twin fiddles and powerful harmonies to The Focal Point for their St. Louis debut.
"At the core of our artistry is community," says the band. "We believe music and dance are two sides of one coin, and we want people to feel that connection when they hear these songs."
In just two years, the trio—Bronwyn Chelette, Shanice Richards, and Rosalee Walsh—have grown from friends at a local jam to playing festivals and touring nationally. As Official Showcase artists for the Southeastern Regional Folk Alliance (SERFA) and finalists for the Freshgrass Awards, they've earned recognition for their powerful vocal harmonies, raging twin fiddles, and emotionally resonant songwriting.
The Little Mercies, their debut EP, captures the band at a pivotal moment, three voices, three musical worlds, and a sound that refuses to stay in one lane. Bronwyn grew up on Appalachian ballads in the Florida panhandle, Shanice played reggae percussion and fiddle in her family's Jamaican church, and Rosalee was raised on bluegrass festivals in rural Colorado. Together, they create music that moves seamlessly from tear-wrenching ballads to high-energy dance tunes.
The "Let The People Dance" tour includes festival appearances at the Baltimore Old Time Festival and Word of South, plus intimate shows at beloved venues across the country.
