Join us for the final Listening Sessions concert of Season 4 as we wish Jenuine Cello off until next season, celebrating this special summer send-off before Jen departs for a four-month artistic residency in Buffalo, New York. She'll be welcoming a surprise guest to the stage and playing a mix of originals and arrangements from some of our favorite moments this LS season!
A self-described one-woman cello army, Jen Mulhern (Jenuine Cello) transforms the stage into a living, breathing orchestra—looping and layering rich, original string harmonies in real time. Using her cello as a guitar, bass, and percussion instrument, Jenuine builds a full symphonic soundscape that powerfully supports her emotive, resonant vocals. This dynamic performance will feature both original works and contemporary songs, all uniquely arranged for cello, looper, and voice.
"The Listening Sessions" is the RGV's only monthly music series of its kind. Surrounded by art and stillness, the performances transform the room into a shared listening sanctuary, offering music and art enthusiasts the opportunity to gather in a space intentionally curated for an unforgettable experience.
Host and Cellist-in-residence Jen Mulhern (aka Jenuine Cello) is joined monthly by a fluid lineup of musicians from varied traditions, with an emphasis on versatility, collaboration and emotional connection. Won’t you join us in the listening room?
