The Listening Room is a collaboration between CommUnity Zone and the Local Music Collective to create a relaxed listening atmosphere featuring artists of all genres. Admission is $10 (free for children 12 and under!) and doors open at 6:30pm. Light refreshments are provided.
Meet February's artists!
The Guitar Brothers (Jerry Bresee, Jon Rounds, Bruce Truitt) are a trio of seasoned musicians and songwriters who found each other in State College in 2021 after many years playing music in far-flung places. Jam sessions evolved into rehearsals, and a sound emerged featuring original music with a studied interplay between acoustic guitar and electric bass. Their set lists show the full range of influences each player brings to the group from Folk and Country through Jazz and Texas Swing. Their set lists are entirely original, built on a solid back catalog from each writer and with new songs emerging for nearly every show.
Paul Loomis is a writer of songs, a father of two, a teacher of math, a runner of long distances, a traveler of South America, a resident of Bloomsburg, and a native of Indiana. He writes indy-folk songs about chickens, pickles, cable cars, the internet, stretchy arms, science, toast, the Susquehanna, yellow frisbees, Iguazu Falls, Mason jars, and a thousand other things, people, and places.
