"The Listening Room: Songs & Stories of War (& Peace)"
Featuring artist/musician Katie Elevitch performing original songs and in conversation with author/creative coach Naomi Vladeck.

A brief reception will follow the event from 5:30-6pm. K Elevitch CD's MD Elevitch, & Naomi Vladeck books will be for sale. Rare, never before exhibited WW2 artifacts & letters of Katie's father will be on view.
$5-$20 suggested donation supports the programs of StorySpace Arts & Big Red Books.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
"The Listening Room" is an intimate, inclusive, interactive, multi-disciplinary community arts program produced by StorySpace Arts since 2018.
The Listening Room's 2025 programs are supported in part by the Arts Council of Rockland's 2025 "Art4All" Grant award and Business Sponsors Studio101Nyack, DreamCutz Ink & Main Street Beat.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Katie Elevitch - a Rockland County based singer-songwriter, multi-disciplinary artist, curator, community arts organizer & founder/exec. director of StorySpace Arts - will explore through story & song how war has impacted her personally.
She will share stories about her Father, Morton D. Elevitch (1928-2006) - a WW2 Veteran & Literary Artist who resided in Rockland County for over 40 years - read from his book of published WW2 letters (Illinois University Press, 2003), and perform songs she wrote inspired by him, 9/11, and her journey of finding peace, healing and catharsis from her catalog of recorded songs (1999-2016).
ABOUT THE MODERATOR:
Naomi Vladeck is a speaker, life and creativity coach and award-winning author who was raised in Rockland County, NY.
Her award-winning book Braving Creativity, workshops, keynotes & summits spark courage, clarity, and connection.

The audience is encouraged to interact with questions and engage in conversation throughout the event.
A short guided meditation will begin the program and we expect a full house - so please come early to insure a seat.
