Taylor Rae, an Austin-based Americana singer-songwriter, will perform Oct. 17 at The Listening Room at Oak Hill.
Rae’s “soul and roll” sound blends roots-rock, folk, blues and jazz into timeless, genre-bending storytelling. As one critic noted Rae is “a singer fully in command of her vocal gifts and a songwriter who enfolds her lyric sensibility in haunting musical sketches.”
The Listening Room starts at 7:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary. A $25 per person donation is requested.
Rae’s first album, “Mad Twenties,” spent 31 weeks on the Americana radio charts and produced a Top 10 single “Home on the Road.” Her second album, “The Void,” includes 11 songs all penned by Rae and includes reggae rhythms and bluegrass-inspired road imagery with songs of self-reflection.
