About this Event
The Lincoln University Sport and Recreation Forum
Join us for the 15th Annual Lincoln University Sport and Recreation Forum, bringing together professionals, academics and students to explore the challenges, opportunities and future of sport and recreation.
This year’s theme, Future Opportunities in Sport and Recreation, will look at where the sector is heading and the possibilities that lie ahead. Hear from experts working across sport diplomacy and high-performance sport, alongside Lincoln University researchers and students sharing their latest research.
Keynote speakers
Our keynote speakers are Kirsty Sharp from the Asia New Zealand Foundation and Sarah Munro from Matatū.
Drawing on their experience in sport diplomacy and high-performance sport, Kirsty and Sarah will share their perspectives on emerging opportunities and consider what the future could look like for the sport and recreation sector.
This will be followed by Lincoln University lecturer Scott Danielson, who will share insights from his research in psychology on building trust and burning bridges.
Postgraduate Research Competition
Following the success of last year’s competition, we will once again showcase the research of Lincoln University’s postgraduate students. Each student will have three minutes to present their research, with the audience invited to vote for their favourite presentation.
Panel Discussion
The event will conclude with a short panel discussion, giving our speakers an opportunity to respond to questions and explore how the themes raised relate to their different areas of sport and recreation. The afternoon will finish with afternoon tea and an opportunity to network with sport and recreation professionals, Lincoln University staff and students.
