After something like a fifteen year hiatus, the Lights are releasing their iconic first record, the "Beautiful Bird" LP, on vinyl for the first time ever, and are playing a select handful of shows around that momentous news, including this one in the Garden City.
Lights fans know the deal, but if you're a Lights first-timer, you're in luck. You've got a band that's essentially been figuring out its collective neural pathways for the better part of 25 years, pacing themselves and their creative output, and practicing like fiends and rocking like the proverbial hurricanes. It's a little like the Fall, and Bob Dylan, the Dream Syndicate and uh, Black Flag. But all that stuff has its own feel, and so do the Lights.
