Hard to pin post - punk proposition' and then add this blurb.... The Liftmen are Neil Smith, Rasha Shaheen, Jamie Whitby-Coles and Jim Barr.
After a large hibernation period during which Rasha became stand- up comedian, head of music college and life guru, their album 'Golden Token' was spawned from sessions at Jim Barr's J & J studio and slowly metamorphed to it's current state to be released on Space Heaters Recordings. ' These Witches' , cautionary tale of cuckolding Wicka men, has received Radio 6 airplay from Marc Riley. The Liftmen are very excited to be back.
House of Frills is a transient project born out of the original songs of Rosemary Prowse - working with different musicians across the realms. Electric guitar and drums are the heart of House Of Frills, having collaborated with Deerhoof drummer, Greg Saunier on her debut album, Supermarket Anomalies. The sound is stripped back with a minimal approach; genre crossing tunes and a raw DIY energy, inspired by the natural world, in particular the queendom of fungi! Rosy works to weave threads like mycelium, changing direction, repeating patterns, freak folk alt pop punk singer songwriter. There's more than meets the eye.
