A Saturday afternoon with poetry and music in Astoria NY—experience the remarkable yet tragic life of Misuzu Kaneko, the beloved Japanese poet, who ended her own life at the young age of 26. Through evocative readings and live performance, her tender words and melodies transcend time, touching the heart with their beauty and depth.
◉PART 1: Book Reading Session
Based on the book called "ARE YOU AN ECHO?" narrative by David Jacobson, Misuzu's life will be reciting with some selections of her poems.

◉PART 2: Art Song Performance
Composer of contemporary music, Satoshi Kanazawa has composed an art song suite compiling 7 Misuzu's poems from the selection in the book "ARE YOU AN ECHO?", and the dual-language art song cycle sung in both Japanese and English interactively will receive its world premiere in this event.
