Looking for something interesting to do that’s not your typical history lecture?Join us for a FREE, engaging evening with John HC Thompson, head of historic interpretation at Fort Meigs.
Instead of dusty dates and long timelines, you’ll hear the real-life stories behind the headlines — what it was actually like to be a soldier during the War of 1812, how people lived, what they feared, and how their choices shaped the place we call home today.
He’ll also share the fascinating story of the 1817 Treaty of the Foot of the Rapids — the agreement that helped create the land that would eventually become Williams County.
Part of Montpelier’s America 250 celebration and sponsored by the Friends of the Montpelier Parks, Inc.
All ages welcome — bring a friend and discover the stories right in our own backyard!
