Join Dr Richard Hoggett in commemorating St Edmund’s Day with an insightful lecture that delves into the fascinating life and martyrdom of St Edmund. Dr Hoggett will explore the historical evidence surrounding Edmund’s life and death, the rise of his cult, and the founding of the Abbey of St Edmund, which became the revered site of his famous shrine.
Dr Richard Hoggett is a freelance heritage consultant, writer and lecturer, with an academic specialism in Anglo-Saxon and medieval monasteries. He is an authority on the Abbey of St Edmund and completed a detailed Heritage Assessment of the site in 2018.
