HITW is proud to present its next set of auditions. On August 9th and 10th, Hole in The Wall is starting Spooky Season early with a classic American tale of terror. Directed by Colette Jolie Gardner and produced by John R. Bosco, HITW is proud to present:
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

“Based on the classic tale by Washington Irving, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow follows the meek schoolteacher, Ichabod Crane and his run ins with the lovely Katrina Van Tassel, the dashing Brom Bones…and the terrifying HEADLESS HORSEMAN!
A classic fright fable for patrons of all ages, it is a poetic performance that would be right at home in front of the campfire. Come to the show and laugh, gasp, and wonder if the Horseman is real!”
Auditions will be held on the aforementioned dates at Hole in The Wall Theater (116 Main St., New Britain, CT, 06051). All roles are open. The production is looking for actors for a cast of about 28 characters (roles will be doubled). The cast of characters include:
Ichabod Crane
Katrina Van Tassel
Abraham “Brom Bones” Van Brunt
Gossip (4)
Sleepy Hollow Boys (3)
Hans Van Ripper
Parson Van Pastor
Cotton Mather
Baltus Van Tassel
Wife Van Tassel
Dame Van Winkle
Voice Students
Old Codger
Old Farmer
Storyteller (2)

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow will run from October 9th to October 25th for 8 performances. More details will be added as they become available.
All potential performers will be asked to require the following:
• Have a working and reliable source of transportation.
• Attend at least one (1) general meeting at the theater either in-person or virtually (held on the second Wednesday of each month, unless previously changed).
• Attend at least one (1) build day or evening for the set.
• Attend set strike for the previous show (Belly: An American Love Story) Sunday, August 23rd, 2026, and the set strike The Legend of Sleepy Hollw on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Resumes and headshots are welcome but not necessarily required to gain a spot in the show. Applicants will be asked to list prior acting/performance experience on the application form. Monologues are also welcome but not required. Sides from the script will be provided. Applicants will also be asked list any scheduling conflicts between the time of auditions and the time of the show.
We look forward to bringing Spooky Season to the stage!
