About this Event

The LCB Business Breakfast is a great opportunity to meet and network with likeminded people from a range of different businesses. Breakfast and refreshments are provided by Grays Coffee Shop & Kitchen.

The November LCB Business Breakfast is co-sponsored by FU Media and Kangaroo UK and is in support of the Alex's Wish fundraising charity for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

This months guest speaker is Rebecca Rhodes, Communications Director at Leicester PR agency, FU Media. Rebecca chats about the history of the business (26 years old and still going strong!) and the changing landscape of public relations. Hear about the FU Media approach to PR, how they’ve adapted and evolved their business over the years, and what advice they would give to anyone looking to tell their story.

Alex’s Wish is a charity set-up to eradicate Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, an aggressive form of Muscular Dystrophy that affects 1 in every 3,500 boys born. Every single muscle is destroyed due to a lack of protein. It also affects the heart and lungs as these are muscles too. Alex’s Wish was set-up by Emma and Andy Hallam (parents to Alex) in late 2012 to help raise vital funds to help bring about new treatments and ultimately a cure for this devastating condition.

Alex wishes that…
through science new treatments and ultimately a cure will be found to make the condition more manageable.
quality of life can be extended and improve for all.
we can accelerate clinical research to block the destructive path of Duchenne.
