Join us for the Launceston Poetry Cup — poetry with the gloves off! Bring your funniest, fiercest, strangest or most outrageous original poem, step up to the mic and deliver it in one minute or less. When the klaxon sounds, you’re done — go over time and you’re disqualified!
The audience decides the winner, so bring your cheer squad and make some noise. The poet who wins the crowd takes home the coveted Launceston Poetry Cup! 🏆

The 2025 Poetry Cup saw Joy Elizabeth take home the “big bucket” after 40 years of competing. She’s polishing it up for this year’s big event, which has moved to a new larger venue to accomodate the crowd.
