About the Event
The PORTRAITS OF EXCELLENCE (PORTexcel) in conjunction with the Morlon Greenwood (MG52) Foundation and Sturdy Hands AV Solutions presents the PORTexcel Honor Awards III and Fine Arts Fundraiser. PORTexcel is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering youth development through fine arts expression and academic excellence. mentor leadership excellence. We shall pay tribute to educators, youth influencers, and community ambassadors who inspire future generations and make a lasting impression for a brighter tomorrow. This year’s gala will also feature vendors, a silent auction, free giveaways, live entertainment and surprise VIPs guests. Also being introduced is the highly anticipated PORTexcel Couture merchandise line. Limited Sponsorship and Vendors opportunities are available. The dress attire is After 5 Chic.
This festive and highly anticipated return of the annual red-carpet event will unfold within an opulent, state-of-the-art theater, providing the perfect backdrop for an elegant cocktail reception featuring refined after-five chic attire. Guests will be welcomed into an atmosphere of distinction, featuring exceptional networking opportunities, live musical entertainment, and a curated selection of light hors d’oeuvres. Together, these elements create the perfect setting to connect, celebrate remarkable accomplishments, and honor a legacy of excellence.

PORTexcel is honored to host this year's event at the prestigious College of Southern Nevada (CSN) in the elegant, state-of-the-art Horn Theatre, located at 3200 East Cheyenne Avenue, North Las Vegas, Nevada. The Horn Theatre offers attendees an exceptional experience as we come together to celebrate achievement, foster meaningful connections, and enjoy an inspiring program highlighting artistic excellence and academic success. Performing and Fine Arts Showcase
This year, PORTexcel will showcase talented students from the Las Vegas Academy (LVA), The King Art Studio, Broadway in the Hood, the College of Southern Nevada (CSN), and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Performers from these distinguished institutions and organizations will be featured through live stage performances, visual art exhibitions displayed during the honoree meet-and-greet event.
The event and the upcoming PORTexcel publication will also showcase artwork from the talented student winners of the PORTexcel Portrait Art Contest , who were awarded cash scholarships in recognition of their creativity and artistic achievement.
About the Magazine
The second edition of PORTexcel Magazine will be launched at the gala, highlighting the exceptional achievements of youth, educators, and community leaders who continue to inspire excellence and make a lasting impact within their communities. The PORTexcel Magazine was founded by Mr. Keith Tate, an acclaimed celebrity portrait artist and Fine Arts honors graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. With more than 30 years of experience as a youth mentor, marketing director, publisher, and visual artist, Mr. Tate has created portraits of renowned entertainers and public figures, including Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Luther Vandross, Robin Thicke, LL Cool J, Jimmy Fallon, Teddy Riley, Patti LaBelle, Maxwell, Frankie Beverly, Fantasia, and many other distinguished celebrities.
PORTexcel Magazine is proud to feature an original artistic portrait of Pastor Sean Taylor and First Lady Cecelia Taylor on the cover of its upcoming 2026 Fall PORTexcel Special Edition. This special tribute recognizes their inspiring faith-based leadership and lasting impact through Victory Missionary Church. As beacons of hope, service, and spiritual guidance, Pastor Sean and First Lady Taylor have dedicated themselves to uplifting lives, strengthening families, and empowering their community through their steadfast commitment to ministry. The featured portrait, created by Mr. Tate, captures their divine anointing, reflecting a profound discipleship outreach.
