Ormskirk and District Family History Society (registered charity no. 1004895) invites you to join us at Ormskirk Library for a very special occasion - the official launch of our second SpaceHive crowdfunded local history booklet.Family History and the Landmarks of West Lancashire (a companion volume to Family History and the Lost Buildings of West Lancashire) explores the hidden history of various features in our local landscape - from the clean water supplied by Ormskirk’s fountains to the remains of wayside crosses that can still be found along ancient routes. Carefully researched by a dedicated team of volunteers and beautifully illustrated with historic and modern images, the publication has been funded through our 2023 Crowdfunding Lancashire campaign and donations from many of our members and supporters.
To launch our new publication, members of the team behind the publication will give a series of short talks inspired by the contents of our crowdfunded booklets.
