The Landmark 5K will directly benefit Lincoln Landmarks, Inc., a non-profit organization that advocates for historic preservation in Lincoln County, NC, promotes the historic architecture of our region, and more. Proceeds will help fund the restoration of Lincolnton's oldest brick building, Pleasant Retreat Academy, built in 1817, which stands on the corner of East Pine and North Academy Streets. Race participants will gather in the parking lot of Pendleton Law Firm on East Pine Street. For the race start, runners will make their way to the Marcia Cloninger Rail Trail and run the trail both ways, finishing at First Federal Park.
