The Labyrinth of Meanings Solo Piano Recital by Antonii Baryshevskyi
About this Event
Kyiv Art Sessions opens its new season in Oxford and London with an event that brings together music, visual art, and the philosophy of symbols.
Labyrinth of Meanings is a solo recital by Ukrainian pianist Antonii Baryshevskyi, named after one of the key works of the renowned Ukrainian artist Oleksandr Dubovyk. Dubovyk’s artistic universe of symbols and signs forms the conceptual core of this year’s Kyiv Art Sessions programme.
The concert serves as a prologue to the major exhibition “White Bouquet”, presented as part of the Oxford Festival of Arts. The musical programme is conceived as a dialogue with the artistic world of Oleksandr Dubovyk, where every image, sign, and symbol reveals new layers of meaning.
The programme features works by two of Ukraine’s most distinguished contemporary composers:
Valentyn Sylvestrov
Triad
Two Pieces: Benedictus (Night) and Sanctus (Day)
Kitsch Music
Maksym Shalygin
To All Who Are in Love
To All Who Have Risen Again
In this programme, music becomes an extension of Oleksandr Dubovyk’s world of symbols and signs, opening a space for personal associations, reflection, and the search for individual meaning.
