Using the iconic Traveler’s Company Notebook as our canvas, we will journey through the historic streets of Japan’s cultural capital. You will learn the art of intentional observation, mastering how to deconstruct Japanese architecture and mouth-watering Kyoto delicacies into simple, approachable geometric frameworks. We will demystify the basics of perspective, line work, and composition, turning daunting scenes into beautiful, bite-sized memories.
This hands-on session is specifically designed for beginners and intermediate hobbyists seeking a mindful, creative escape. Through guided demonstrations and live practice, you will discover how to blend sketching and journaling to document your travels with confidence and soul.

Bring your own materials
We suggest the following art materials for this workshop:
- A black fine-line 0.3/0.5/0.7 marker with permanent/waterproof ink
- [Optional] A fountain pen pre-filled with permanent/waterproof black ink
- A regular pencil and eraser
- Watercolours (any basic set of colours) and palette
- Water brush or regular brush
- Any sketchbook, watercolour paper or Traveler’s Notebook Sketch Paper (Code 012).
