At the time, she was a student at Dominican University pursuing her psychology degree and chasing her goal of becoming a mental health professional as a first-generation latina college student. This scholarship is awarded each year to a psychology student at Dominican University who embodies Julissa’s compassion, dedication to service, and drive to make a difference.

Julissa was the person everyone turned to—for advice, for comfort, for a smile—and her natural ability to uplift others made her path in psychology truly fitting. As her friends, we are honored to continue her legacy by supporting future students who share her heart and purpose.
