The Jodi Smith Readers To Leaders Gala 2024

The 3rd annual Jingle Ball will be hosted November 16, 2024 at Wisehaven Event Center. The Readers to Leaders Scholarship is honoring the memory of Jodi L. Smith, who recently passed away March 22, 2022 unexpectedly. Jodi was an educator for 25 years with the Washington County Public Schools as an English lead, Assistant Principal and Reading Specialist. Jodi was loved by not only her students, co-workers, administration, but also her community. Jodi's true passions in life were reading, educating her students and making sure she provides the best educational opportunities for her srudents. Jodi was very involved with her school district encouraging the less fortunate children to excel in reading, writing and achieving their goals of secondary education. Jodi even worked with the school district to organize a field trip to Barnes and Nobles. This allowed each child to have 2 books to read over the summer time. Jodi's tragic loss has affected everyone who knew and loved her. The Jingle Ball, benefitting the Readers to Leaders Scholarship, will allow high school seniors to apply for scholarships to further their education into teacher and reading literacy.
