The IP Advantage: Trademarks & Incorporation
About this Event
Incorporating your business and protecting your brand are two different things — and understanding both is essential for building a strong business foundation.
Join this informative hybrid session with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and Corporations Canada (CC) to learn how incorporation creates a separate legal business entity, while trademarks help protect your brand name, logo, and identity in the marketplace.
Topics include:
- What incorporation does — and does not — protect
- The difference between a corporate name and a trademark
- Why trademarks matter for your business brand
- Common misconceptions about business name protection
If you’ve created a business name, logo, or slogan, you may already have valuable intellectual property.
