Music for the month of May, at the Museum & Cultural Center brings spirit-lifting, and soul searching songs from the Driftless group…the Iowans! They are a dynamic pair of first cousin gals who have been creating and inspiring each other since childhood. Transplanted from the fertile soil of Northeastern Iowa, now hailing from the musical vortex of Viroqua, Wisconsin, Katie and Christina weave together nostalgia and moving sounds with their claw hammer banjo, guitar and organic vocal harmonies.
Christina puts words from the heart to melodies and Katie adds the heartbeat and sparkle. To round out their sound, the Iowans bring Matt on jazzy bass and Dave on warm harmonies and electric guitar…both accomplished musicians with kindred spirits.
This group of four tremendously talented musicians are always delighted to be playing together and that pure joy and connection is an experience in itself. They will have you feeling like you are a part of the family in no time! Come catch the spirit of the Iowans on Friday, May 29th (the fifth Friday this month!) @ 7:30 at 406 Main. A donation of $10 is greatly appreciated to help continue monthly events at the Savanna Museum & Cultural Center. Receive a warm welcome and refreshments, offered by the Events Committee and host Marc Kelly Smith, Poetry Slam founder and entertainer.
