The Huldra Quartet presents Music by Florence Price

This program features a lecture recital on Florence Price’s “Five Folksongs in Counterpoint” by the Huldra Quartet. This warm yet intricate piece blends American folk songs and Black spirituals with complex counterpoint. The program will include a discussion of the life and works of 20th-century African American composer, Florence Price, a description of how the folk songs and spirituals are interwoven throughout each movement, and a performance.
