The Holiday Coastal Native Art Paint & Sip
About this Event
Gather close and celebrate the season with us at our Holiday Inspired Painting + Culture Experience withTlingit Tribal Member & Formline Artist Bill Pfeifer, Jr
A Deer Aglow with Holiday Light!
Together we'll paint a Coastal Native Art deer adorned with whimsical holiday lights, a design created especially for this gathering and offered only once. You'll be guided by our beloved formline artist and Tlingit tribal member Wéidaaká Yóodóohaa (Bill Pfeifer, Jr.).
In Tlingit culture, the deer (g̲uwakaan) is a symbol of peace, calm, and reconciliation, which makes it a fitting companion for the season of peace and giving. As you paint, Bill will share stories of the deer from his tribe's oral histories, so every brushstroke carries a little of the living tradition behind it.
