Experience an unforgettable evening of music as The Hiking Organist arrives at Heslington Church during an extraordinary six-day musical pilgrimage across Yorkshire.

Alexander Woodrow, Organist of Leeds Minster, is walking 104 miles from Leeds to Scarborough, performing six organ recitals in churches along the White Rose Way. This unique fundraising challenge supports the Leeds Minster Choral Scholarship Programme, helping to inspire and develop the next generation of young musicians, while also supporting the churches welcoming him along the route.

This special 50-minute recital showcases the power, colour and brilliance of the organ with a thrilling programme including J.S. Bach's famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor, C.M. Widor's spectacular Toccata from Symphonie V, together with music by S.S. Wesley, Mendelssohn and Vierne.

Whether you love classical music, magnificent church organs or simply want to support an inspiring Yorkshire challenge, this promises to be an evening of outstanding music in the beautiful surroundings of Heslington Church.

Admission is free, with a cash retiring collection shared equally between the Leeds Minster Choral Scholarship Programme and the mission and ministry of Heslington Church.

Refreshments will be served after the concert, offering the opportunity to meet Alexander and hear more about his remarkable journey.
