We invite the Community to join us for our Black History Month Special event: THE HIDDEN SCIENCE OF ANCIENT WEST AFRICA
We also invite Parents, Teachers and Specialists who work with Young People to join us.
Captain Ibrahim Traore has captured the imagination of the world. But he was not an exception. He is the product of a long history of greatness and achievement in West Africa.
As we learn more about Black history and African heritage, we learn more about what we are capable of as a people. As scholars and historians discover ever more examples of African greatness, the bigger our horizon can be in what we believe we can aspire to. The more of this information we can get to our young people, the more we can transform the trajectory of their lives.
Gone are the days when history was about enslavement, anger, and Black humiliation. The history we will be presenting will be aspirational. It is about achievement, excellence, and pride!
At previous Hidden Science Academy events, we highlighted the role of Kemet in our history of excellence. This event highlights the achievements of West Africa. We will tell those achievements through short lectures, interactive classes, poetry, and film premiers.
When the subject of Black History comes up, there are three questions:
- What are the historic achievements that our community should know with pride?
- Why does this information benefit us today?
- How should we teach our young people this heritage?
At The Hidden Science Academy, we are revolutionising community education. We aim to produce self-confident adults secure in the knowledge of their heritage. Moreover, we enable those adults to confidently teach the next generation what they need to know about this rich history & heritage.
Our ultimate target is to create successful, powerful, and cultured young people!
