Celebrating 20 years of Awoo, The Hidden Cameras return to the stage with a special anniversary set, revisiting the songs that defined a generation alongside a selection of greatest hits from their remarkable catalogue.
Led by Joel Gibb, The Hidden Cameras have spent over two decades carving out a singular musical world—what Gibb once called “gay folk church music”—blending orchestral folk, pop, and bold, unapologetic explorations of queer love long before it found space in the mainstream.
Formed in Toronto in 2001, the project has always been fluid and collaborative, evolving across continents and lineups. From the choral intimacy of early work to the shimmering electronic pulse of later releases like BRONTO, Gibb continues to reinvent the project while staying rooted in emotionally direct, distinctive songwriting.
This anniversary show is both a celebration and a return: a chance to hear Awoo’s enduring songs live, and to experience the full, ever-evolving universe of The Hidden Cameras.
