About this Event
Join us at Sky Stage on September 15, 2024 for a unique storytelling experience with nationally touring artist, Adam Booth. Adam is the 2022 West Virginia Folk Artist of the Year, awarded at the Governor’s Arts Awards. He blends traditional mountain folklore, music, and an awareness of contemporary Appalachia to create original, forward-thinking story artistry.
uses spoken storytelling, quilting, and paper sculpture to tell an allegory filled with magic, challenges to opposition, and transformation. Meet the title character Lake in various forms of self-discovery and take part in giving the story wings. The Heron’s Journey is presented as part of the 2024-2025 Mid Atlantic Arts Touring Roster.
Make sure to register for a one-evening workshop about the intersection of quilting and storytelling co-lead by Adam and the Clustered Spires Quilting Guild at the Delaplaine Arts Center on September 12, 2024. Participants will have the opportunity for their work to be used in Adam’s performance at Sky Stage. To register for the workshop, visit https://delaplaine.org/class/?id=25-2-OT01.
This program is co-presented by the Delaplaine Center for the Arts and the Frederick Arts Council.
