This event will be a speed dating style event, modeled after similar events hosted by Founders Ministries and other reputable Christian organizations. Every "date" will be 5 to 10 minutes of conversation, followed by 30 seconds to write down any notes, and 30 seconds to switch seats. Everyone will get a chance to speak with everyone else in their group.
Every attendee is required to have a recommendation from a pastor/elder upon registration. We desire that all who wish to attend are able but believe to honor God and for this event to truly be successful, the involvement of the local church is paramount.
The attendees are divided into 5 groups by age:
Group 1: 18-23
Group 2: 22-30
Group 3: 29-45
Group 4: 44-60
Group 5: 60+
Each attendee will have the opportunity to check "Yes" or "No" on their sheets provided for them after each "date". Only those who both checked yes will be contacted about their match. Checking yes is not an agreement to marriage or even another date. It is merely showing interest in having a further conversation. We encourage attendees to check yes for multiple people as that will greatly increase the potential for a match.
The event will take place in Faith Hall on the Siloam Baptist Church campus. We will have volunteers and staff present at all times. Each attendee's bio will be put into a list to be shared only with those in their group. Personal bio information will not be shared with anyone outside the group. The results of the event are confidential.
Anyone who is not registered at the time of the event will be able to attend and no slots will be given at the door. We pray that this event brings glory to God, and we look forward to seeing you there!
