The Heart of Insight Practice: Seeing that Frees: Seeing, Impermanence, Dukkha.

Join us in person at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Benicia, CA, USA .

Donald is a leading teacher and writer on meditation, the intersection of psychology and spirituality, and socially engaged spiritual practice. Donald's teachings will illuminate the nature of impermanence and suffering, and will share how seeing with clarity can lead to liberation.

We will explore the three fundamental modes of freeing insight in Buddhist Insight Meditation. With a foundation in first stabilizing our attention, we will focus our mindfulness practice on the “Three Characteristics” of phenomena: (1) Impermanence , (2) Reactivity, also often translated as “unsatisfactoriness” or “suffering,” and (3) Not-self.

We will explore several practices for each of these three areas and identify ways to bring them into daily life. A resource packet will be given out. Includes periods of silent and guided meditation, talks, and discussion.
