The founding of the Oscar Micheaux Family Theater Program Company also known simply as the Company has a mission for teaching about one of the most culturally defined period in American history using the principle of collaboration. We see a need to erase predispositions about the history of African Americans and a better understanding of our struggle to overcome social barriers.. Our curriculum and its development to teach includes llearning the technical skills as in audio and lighting taught by Wil Spencer and his assistant Franklin Spencer, Karyn Harris with the set and prop design and costume creation by R. Keith Houston, all combined to elevate the production values. Our cast is intergenerational, bringing life to the characters under the astue directing skills of Monica Anderson Spencer. It will be a learning experience for the audience that will erase what was thought to be our history. We have been welcomed by the City of Cambridge and we are asking that you be in the audience on March 28th to enjoy the production that will include the amazing liturgical dance by STAJEZ Cultural Arts Center.
