📽️ "The Hands of the Potter" is a captivating silent film created in 1947 by Charles Chislett for the Church Pastoral Aid Society. It tells the story of Wood & Sons, the renowned earthenware manufacturer, and brings to life the traditional, hands-on pottery-making methods of the post-war era.
Featuring local workers from Wood & Sons factories, this film captures the heart of the Middleport and Burslem communities. We’re inviting you to come along and see if you can spot a familiar face—perhaps a family member, friend, or even a long-lost relative! 👀
✨ Share Your Memories!
During the event, you’ll also have the chance to share your memories—whether through audio, video, or written stories. These contributions will form part of an updated version of "The Hands of the Potter", which will be shown at a second event hosted by the Ray Johnson for the Burslem History Club on Wednesday, 14th May 2025.
