CCA's Island Concert Stage Presents The Guitar Renegades Live — an evening of world-class music right here on Chincoteague Island.The Guitar Renegades are a dynamic and versatile group comprised of founder/leader Cristian Perez, Parker Speirs, Jan Knutson, Tommy Holladay, and Connor Holdridge.
While all five members share a foundation in jazz, they often venture into repertoire as diverse as Bach, Simon & Garfunkel, Nirvana, Jobim, and The Beatles.
What sets The Guitar Renegades apart is their masterful blend of styles. They are celebrated for their ability to balance intricate, tightly arranged ensemble parts — akin to a classical guitar ensemble — with the spontaneous brilliance of improvised sections using a contemporary jazz aesthetic. The result is a sophisticated and highly entertaining performance that showcases the versatility and virtuosity of the guitar.
