After 32 years in UC B100, the day has finally come — at the end of this semester, we'll be moving into another space while most of the University Center is demolished and rebuilt. We wanted to have a sendoff and provide one more chance for you to come visit your old stomping grounds, because this will definitely be a full demolition situation and not a renovation.We are planning to preserve some of the architectural elements of the current space, like cutting out a section of the pickled wood with the UTA seal and gold Student Publications text at the top of the stairs, as well as the orange wall of the newsroom with the silver Shorthorn logo. We also plan to have a limited number of mementos crafted out of materials salvaged from the office (if we can get some cooperation from the FabLab and the carpentry shop). If you can't make it, we will post a lot of photos of the space and the event.
We have some things in the works about our temporary space but it is not totally confirmed yet. Watch this space for more details as they are available — just wanted to get this date on your calendars. 🚚 ✌️
