About this Event

Every step brings care

Whether you’re looking for a scenic stroll or a serious endurance test, The Great Leeds Walk is the perfect way to explore the city while making a real difference.

Every step brings care and compassion closer for people when they need us most.

Choose your challenge

  • 10 miles – ideal for those who want a relaxed pace and time to enjoy the views.
  • 18 miles – a rewarding mid-distance route for keen walkers.
  • 25 miles – a challenge for those ready to go the distance.

Every route is fully supported with marshals, signage and refreshment stops along the way.

Shuttle buses are available back to the starting point for mid-length walks.

On the day

Registration will open at 10:00am to allow for preparation ahead of the first swimming session at 10:30am.

All swimmers must wear a brightly coloured swimming hat in the lake. Please bring a swim hat with you on the day, as there will be a limited number available to purchase on the day.

Why take part?

Every step you take helps Sue Ryder provide expert care and support for local people at the end of life and those living with grief.

By joining us, you’re not just walking – you’re helping families when they need it most, through the most difficult time of their life.

Fundraise for our care

We ask each participant to aim for a minimum sponsorship of £200. Your fundraising will help us continue to provide compassionate end-of-life care and bereavement support for local people when they need us.
