What is The Great Global Mend?
It's Australia's biggest simultaneous repair event.
Join us on Saturday 7 November 2026 from 10.00am, as menders across the country pick up a needle at the exact same moment, all fixing something instead of throwing it away.

No experience needed. Simply:
1. Bring something that needs fixing, a hem, a button, a hole, anything.
2. Sit down with your community and fix it together.
Why it matters
23kg. That's how much clothing the average Australian throws out every year.
Most of it isn't broken beyond repair, it just needs five minutes, a needle and someone to show you how.
Together, in under 3 hours at the 2025 Great Global Mend, we avoided 2.5 tonnes of CO2e, roughly a full year's worth of driving for the average Australian car.
