Have you been wanting to learn how to safely preserve food at home? Whether you're brand new to food preservation or looking to refresh your skills, this workshop is for you!
Join us on September 26, 2026, for a full day of hands-on learning focused on safe food preservation methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices. Participants can choose from pressure canning, water bath canning, dehydration, or freezing and will make products to take home.

Wapello County Extension Office, Ottumwa
$50 per participant
What's Included?
• Hands-on instruction from Extension staff
• Choice of preservation method
• Products to take home
• Food preservation safety education
• Lunch
• Time to connect with others interested in preserving food
Additional Information
• Youth (16 & under) and adults are welcome ($65 registration fee)
• Ball Canning Books available for purchase for $17
• Registration deadline: September 16, 2026
• No refund after September 16
• You do not need to be a Wapello County resident to participate
